Requirements for Membership of CFA Institute

Regular Membership

To qualify as a regular member of CFA Institute and a local society, an investment professional must meet all of the criteria listed below:

Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or have equivalent education or work experience
Pass Level I of the CFA exam or pass the self-administered Standards of Practice Examination
Have 48 months of acceptable professional work experience in the investment decision-making process
Agree to adhere to and sign the Member's Agreement, a Professional Conduct Statement, and any additional documentation requested by CFA Institute

Both CFA Institute and a society must review your application for regular membership. All societies require you to provide two sponsors; these can be submitted online. In the event of a discrepancy, CFA Institute makes the final determination for regular membership status.

CFA Charterholder Membership

To qualify as a CFA charterholder member, you must become a regular member and complete all three levels of the CFA Program.

There are three types of membership: regular, CFA charterholder, and affiliate. When you apply for membership with us, you don't choose your type of membership. We assign it based on your qualifications. (It may take up to 10-12 weeks to review your application.)

轉換分會處理流程

又到了每年繳交CFA協會年費與地區分會會費的時間，如果您想趁此時機轉入台灣分會，請注意你繳地區分會會費的對象。

情況1.如果您想保留原先其他地區分會的會籍並增加台灣分會的會籍:

那您依然可以繳交原先地區分會的會費，另外建議您在4月1日之後登入https://www.cfainstitute.org/finsecustomer_enu/start.swe，增加CFA Association of Taiwan為您的新增分會項目，但您會因此需要繳交兩個或兩個以上的地區分會會費。

情況2.如果您不想保留原先地區分會的會籍並想轉入台灣分會

您要注意您的會費明細是否還有原先地區分會的會費在繳費明細中，您可進一步與台灣分會聯絡處理細節。建議您在4月1日之後登入https://www.cfainstitute.org/finsecustomer_enu/start.swe，增加CFA Association of Taiwan為您的主要(primary)地區分會。

登入後請按照以下步驟：

1. 選擇Apply for Membership，進入後請按右下角的”APPLY”，

2. 然後選擇右下角的”NEXT”，

3. Country選擇 Taiwan，然後按右方的”go”

4. 下方就會出現”CFA Association of Taiwan”，然後按”Apply”。

完成向CFA Institute申請加入台灣分會之後，待CFA Institute進行處理後通知台灣分會(一般來說，處理時間應該不會超過八週)。並記得要向CFA Institute以E-mail方式申請取消(cancel)您原先隸屬的地區分會會籍。

此外，若您已經是CFA charterholder/regular member，請以中文填寫附件的台灣分會入會申請表第一頁(第二頁為選擇性)，email excel 檔案，並簽名郵寄給我們。

The procedure to request society membership

Firstly figure out your status.

A. you are already a CFA charterholder or a regular member of CFA Institute

Please follow the below procedure

1. log in https://www.cfainstitute.org/finsecustomer_enu/start.swe and then follow the below instructions.

1.1. click “Apply for Membership”,

1.2. click ”APPLY” at the right-bottom corner,

1.3. click ”NEXT” at the right-bottom corner，

1.4. Choose “Taiwan” at Country column，then click ”go”

1.5. “CFA Association of Taiwan” will show on the screen，then click “Apply”.

After submit, it takes normally up to 8 weeks for process and society approval.

2. Complete and send society membership application form to CFA Association of Taiwan ("CFA Taiwan").

2.1. Complete the first page of society membership application form (as attachments)

2.2. Return your completed society membership application form to secretary@taiwan.cfasociety.org by email and print the form out, sign, and send the form back to the mailing address of CFA Taiwan.

B. you are a CFA candidate and want to apply to be a CFA charterholder or a regular member of CFA Institute

1. Complete and submit the following documents on-line by click APPLY NOW.

1.1. membership application form,

1.2. signed Professional Conduct Statement and Member's Agreement, and

1.3. appropriate Sponsor forms.

2. In the process, choose CFA Association of Taiwan as your local society.

3. Prepare to provide detailed work experience narrative

4. Upon acceptance, submit dues payment*

5. Complete and send society membership application form to CFA Taiwan.

5.1. Complete society membership application form (as attachments)

5.2. Return your completed society membership application form to secretary@taiwan.cfasociety.org by email and print the form out, sign, and send the form back to the mailing address of CFA Taiwan.

*: Notification of acceptance may take several weeks.

Please do not send any payment with your application.

CFA Association of Taiwan entrance fee is NT500 and annual dues are NT$ 2300 for either Regular member or affiliate member (in addition to annual CFA Institute dues), and will be billed upon acceptance for membership.

會員資格與義務

本會會員申請資格如下：

一、正式會員：為美國金融分析師協會(CFA Institute)之正式會員者，得申請為本會正式會員。

二、準會員：認同本會宗旨，並願參與本會會務者。

申請時應填具入會申請書，經理事會通過，並繳納會費*。

*會費包括：

入會費：新台幣500元，於會員入會時繳納；

以及常年會費：新台幣2,300元。

正式會員(會員代表)有表決權、選舉權、被選舉權與罷免權。每一會員(會員代表)均為一權。

準會員無前項權利。

會員應遵守下列義務：

一、按時繳納會費。未繳交年度會費者自動停權，於繳納完結時復權；

二、遵守本會章程、決議及規章；

三、遵守本會所頒行之職業守則；

四、服從本會之懲戒處分；

五、依本會之請求提供關於從業行為之資訊；

六、依本會之請求，於美國金融分析師協會懲戒程序中提供文件、作證及配合調查；及

七、維持在美國金融分析師協會之會員資格。
