問：我什麼時候會收到考場的相關細節？
(When will I receive specific details on my test center location?)

答：考場的確切位置會印在您的准考證上(exam admission ticket)。在六月份參加考試的考生可以在四月下旬於線上列印准考證，而在十二月份參加考試的考生能夠在十月下旬於線上列印准考證。CFA協會將在准考證開放列印時通知您。(The exact location of your test center will be printed on your exam admission ticket. Admission tickets for the June exam will be available in late April. Admission tickets for the December exam will be available in late October. You will receive notice from CFA Institute when the online ticket system is available.)

 

問：我要怎麼換考場？(How do I change my test center?)

答：請依循這些規定。如果有空位的話，CFA協會將會同意更換考場。(Follow these instructions. CFA Institute will grant such requests if space is available.)

 

問：我最近剛搬家，而且也寄了住址變更表給你們了。你們會自動更新我的考場嗎？(I just moved and sent in my address change form. Will you automatically change my test center?)

答：不會。更改您的註冊地址與更改您的考場是兩件不同的事。您可以隨時更新您的郵遞地址，但是您如果想要更換考場，則必須依循這些規定。(No. Changing your address and changing your test center are two separate processes. You can submit a change of mailing address at any time. Candidates who want to change test centers for the CFA exams must follow these instructions.)

 

問：如果我取消十二月份的第一級考試，我是不是要等取消考試的申請作業完成，並且得到CFA協會的確認之後才申請六月份的考試？(If I withdraw from the December Level I exam, do I have to wait until the forms have been processed and confirmed before I apply for the June exam?)

答：不用。考生可以在取消十二月份考試的同時，提出六月份考試的書面的重新報名申請，但是線上報名則需要等到十二月份考試的取消作業完成。儘管如此，報名費用(registration fees)是不能退還、亦不能挪至下次考試使用的（例如：十二月挪到六月），您仍須繳交六月份考試的報名費。(No. Candidates may submit a paper re-registration application for the June exam at the same time they submit their request to withdraw from the December exam, but they cannot apply online until their withdrawal is processed. However, please note that registration fees cannot be refunded or transferred from one exam to the next. You will need to pay another registration fee for the June exam.)

 

問：如果我申請了考試成績複查但是我又打算報名下次的考試，我應該先等複查結果出來再報名嗎？(If I request an exam score retabulation, should I wait to receive the retabulation result before re-registering?)

答：不。我們強烈建議您越早報名越好，因為越晚報名，費用越高。(No. We strongly encourage you to re-register at the earlier (and less expensive) deadline.)

 

問：我沒辦法參加考試了，我是不是能夠要求退費或是把這次的報名費用移至下次考試使用？(I am not able to sit for the exam. Can I request a refund or transfer my registration to the next exam?)

答：不行。一旦您申請了CFA Program，我們全部的規定都會即刻生效（根據規定，這樣是不可以退費的）。就如同我們的退費規定所述，CFA Program的註冊費(enrollment fee)和考試報名費(exam registration fee)皆不可退費，且不可移轉(也就是說，您不能讓別人使用您的註冊費或是考試報名費，而您也不能拿註冊A考試的費用去參加B考試）。請注意，您的CFA Program註冊費(enrollment fee)只需要繳交一次。(No. Once you submit your application for the CFA Program, all of our policies immediately go into effect. As our refund policy states, your CFA Program enrollment fee and exam registration fee are non-refundable and non-transferable (i.e. another candidate cannot use your fees and you cannot apply your fees to another exam offering). Please note that your CFA Program enrollment fee will remain valid throughout your candidacy.) 

 

問：請問我的註冊和考試報名申請作業大約需要多長的時間？(How long does it take to process my enrollment and registration application?)

答：線上申請作業可在48小時內完成，屆時，您將會收到我們的通知。(Online applications are processed within 48 hours and you will be notified of your status.)

 

問：我已經報名第一級考試了，我可以取消嗎？(May I withdraw my registration in the Level I exam?)

問：我是美國退伍軍人，我可以申請CFA考試的(美國)政府退費嗎？(I am a U.S. veteran. Can I be reimbursed for CFA Program fees?)

答：可以。您可以先支付CFA Program之相關費用，我們將會提供您向美國退伍軍人事務部申請考試退費所需之相關文件。請點這裡與我們聯絡以獲得更多訊息。(Yes. You pay CFA Program fees up front and we provide you with documentation to submit to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for reimbursement. Please contact us for more information.)

問：我聽到CFA協會會根據坊間補習班的講義或參考書內容來編寫考題的傳言，請問這是真的嗎？(I heard that CFA Institute writes the exam questions based on what is, or is not, in the notes prepared by prep course providers. Is that true?)

 
答：不是真的。我們的考題準備過程都是早在任何坊間補習班的參考書出版之前就開始了。以六月份的考試為例：CFA考試的出題者早在前一年的七月中旬就開始草擬考題，接著經過長達數月的重新檢視、修改編撰，直到隔年三月初，考題才會定案，所以我們才來得及校訂、印刷，並即時把考題送至全球各地。(No. The exam development process begins long before any review course has published its notes. CFA Program question writers begin drafting exam questions in mid-July, and spend many months reviewing and fine-tuning the questions and guideline answers. Exam questions are finalized by early March so that copyediting and secure printing can take place in time to ship the exams around the world.)

 

問：請問民間補習班是不是有管道從CFA協會取得更內部的考試訊息？(Do commercial prep course providers receive advance exam details from CFA Institute?)

答：沒有。在考題準備階段中，不論是出題者或是CFA協會的工作人員，都不會透露任何考試訊息給任何補習班。要知道，補習班只能「猜題」，而且他們常常猜錯。(No. At no time during the exam development process do either the question writers or CFA Institute staff consult with or provide exam information to prep course providers. It is important to note that prep course providers can only guess at what items will appear on the exams; very often they guess wrong.)

 

問：我已經開始準備第一級的考試了，而且我發現有很多會用到的公式。我有必要去把他們都背起來嗎？(I have begun studying for the Level I exam and discovered that there are many formulas presented. Are candidates expected to memorize all these formulas?)

答：考生應該參考我們的學習成果說明（learning outcome statements， LOS）。如果說明中明確指出，考生應該要記得某條公式，那麼，那條公式就應該要被記起來。(Candidates are expected to be able to perform the actions specified in the learning outcome statements (LOS). If a formula is required, then it should be committed to memory.)

 

問：我必須另外購買CFA指定教材嗎？(Am I required to buy the CFA Program curriculum separately?)

答：從 2008年度的考試開始，全套指定教材皆包含在考試報名費用中。請點這裡以瞭解更多詳情。(Beginning with the 2008 exams, the complete curriculum is included as part of the registration. Learn more about this change.)

請記得，考題都是CFA協會直接從指定教材中，根據學習成果說明而設計的。從原來的指定教材中學習是無可取代的。(Remember that the exams are developed directly from the curriculum and are consistent with the learning outcome statements (LOS) assigned by CFA Institute. There is no substitute for studying the original material.)

 

問：指定教材會如何寄送?我何時會收到？(How is the curriculum shipped and when will I get it?)

答：指定教材會透過UPS寄送（國際包裹採用Worldwide Saver方案/北美地區採用UPS Ground方案。對於美國考生，從寄出日起，教材大約需要等待六至九個工作天才會寄達。至於國際考生，教材應會在寄出後的九個工作天內到達海關。包裹何時出關則取決於考生。(The curriculum is shipped via UPS (Worldwide Saver for international shipments/UPS Ground for North America shipments). Candidates should allow six to nine business days for delivery. For international candidates, the package should reach the customs department within nine business days. It will be up to the candidate to clear the package from customs.)

 

 

問：我住在美國以外地區，當CFA Program教材送達時我必須支付任何附加進口費用嗎？(I live outside the United States. Will I have to pay any additional import fees when the CFA Program curriculum is shipped to me?)

答：可能要。各國海關及進口規定均不同，很抱歉我們無法提供適用於所有考生的詳細資訊。如果當地法規要求您支付進口費用，快遞公司(UPS, FedEx, or DHL)將會另行通知您相關資訊。(Maybe. Customs and import requirements vary from country to country, and unfortunately we cannot provide detailed information that will apply to all candidates. If your local regulations require you to pay an import fee, you will be contacted by the shipping company (UPS, FedEx, or DHL) with additional information.)

 

問：考試時我該準備好使用計算機的那些功能？

(What features of the approved calculators should I be prepared to use on the exams?)

答：考生應練習並熟練任何需要滿足教材內學習成果說明(LOS)的計算機功能。例子包含(但不限於)現值及終值、年金支付、平方根及指數。考生亦應了解如何使用該計算機的一般功能，例如改變小數點位數的顯示方式。
(You should practice and become proficient at using any of the specific calculator features needed to address the learning outcome statements (LOS) in the curriculum. Examples include, but are not limited to, present and future values, annuity payments, square roots, and exponents. You should also know how to use general features of your chosen calculator, such as changing the number of decimal places displayed.)

 

問：我必須使用螺絲起子替換Texas Instruments BA II Plus的電池，如果考試時電池沒電，會被允許使用嗎？(I have to use a screwdriver to replace the batteries in my Texas Instruments BA II Plus calculator. Will I be allowed to do this during the exams if my battery dies?)

答：是的。如果您更換計算機電池時需要使到螺絲起子，您可以攜帶一把置於口袋或椅子下方，以便取用。不過CFA協會建議您在考試之前就更換新的電池，因為在考試中替換電池將消耗您寶貴的考試時間
(Yes. If your calculator requires the use of a screwdriver to replace batteries, you may bring one and keep it in your pocket or place it under your chair until you need to use it. However, CFA Institute advises you to place fresh batteries in your calculator(s) on the day before the exams. Replacing batteries during the exams will use valuable testing time.)

         

問：在使用HP 12C計算機進行貨幣的時間價值計算時會遇到問題，我該擔心HP 12C在計算累積給定終值所需之時間時自動進位的問題嗎？

There is a problem with using the HP 12C calculator to do some time value of money calculations. Should I be concerned that the HP 12C automatically rounds up when computing the time required to accumulate a given future value?

答：不用擔心。CFA協會已察覺HP 12C在計算累積特定總合所需時間時會自動進位，我們已在命題及評量成績時將該問題納入考量。

(No. CFA Institute is aware that the HP 12C rounds up when computing the time required to accumulate a certain sum. We have taken that into consideration in the creation of questions and in the grading process.)

 

問：我知道只有兩種計算機型號被允許使用。這是個強加限制於考生的過時規定，為何我不能使用我的HP17B2？

(I understand that there are only two calculator models that I’m allowed to use. This is an archaic rule that has no basis except to impose restrictions on candidates. Why can’t I use my HP17B2?)

(Many calculators, such as the HP17B2, have text-storing capabilities. Candidates could bring text stored in the calculator into the testing room, creating an unfair situation. By adopting a policy of permission (defining what a candidate may use) rather than a policy of omission (attempting to describe what the candidate may not use), we can more easily protect the integrity of the CFA exam. It is a standard practice of many professional testing bodies to provide a short list of permissible models. In the current policy, the HP model is available for candidates who prefer Postfix notation entry, and the TI model is available for those who prefer algebraic notation entry. Both of the models approved for use on the CFA exams are available for sale worldwide and are relatively inexpensive. The policy was developed to create a level playing field for all candidates. Please note that CFA Institute does not sell calculators, nor does CFA Institute receive any financial remuneration from sales of either calculator model.)

 

 

問：為何我同意關掉鈴聲，還是不能將手機帶進試場？

(Why can’t I bring my mobile phone into the testing room if I agree to turn the sound off?)

答：CFA協會擔憂的不只手機鈴響造成的干擾，還有作弊的潛在可能性。手機的相機及簡訊功能普遍被應試者濫用，造成不公平的優勢。因此，為了確保每位考生的平等，試場禁止攜入手機，任何在試場內被發現的手機將予以沒收，該考生也會被呈報至CFA協會執行懲戒。
(CFA Institute is concerned not only for the distraction posed by ringing telephones, but also for the potential for cheating. With camera and text messaging capabilities, mobile phones are actively being used by students around the world to take an unfair advantage. Therefore, to ensure a fair and equitable opportunity for all candidates, mobile phones are not allowed in the testing room. Any mobile phone found in the testing room will be confiscated, and the candidate will be reported to CFA Institute for disciplinary action.)

 

問：考試當天有服裝規定嗎？

(Is there a dress code for the exams?)

答：沒有。CFA協會建議考生採舒適為主的多層穿著。試場的溫度理應適中，然而考生應試時可能會感到熱或冷。我們建議您穿著軟底鞋，以便將試場雜音減到最低。
(No. CFA Institute advises candidates to dress comfortably and in layers. Temperatures in the testing room should be comfortable; however, sometimes candidates get hot or cold during the exams. We suggest that you wear soft-soled shoes to keep noise in the testing room to a minimum.)

 

問：假如考試當天天氣惡劣，CFA協會之應變措施為何？

(What is the CFA Institute contingency plan in the event of inclement weather?)
